Welcome to my site about my Naturally Reared Carolina Dogs! Carolina Dogs are a relatively new, rare breed recognized by the UKC, AKC-FSS & ARBA, and are quite possibly America's own indigenous wild dog. CDs make wonderful companions, athletes, hunters, and bedwarmers! Natural Rearing is the philosophy wherein we raise our dogs and puppies by following the 8 Laws of Health, employing Biologically Appropriate Raw Food and no toxic chemicals on, in or around our dogs. We have found this way of life fosters balance, health and longevity in our beloved companions. For our puppies, we welcome homes that have a very similar philosophy about dog rearing, or wish to learn. Check us out, follow us and share us in other places!!! Carolina Dog Puppies from East Tennessee Dingos

Carolina Dogs from East Tennessee Dingos

CD/ADs from East Tennessee Dingos.
You may have found out about Carolina Dogs and are thinking, “That is the perfect dog for us!”. You may be right! You may have owned a Carolina Dog/ American Dingo/Dixie Dingo/Southern Indian Dog previously, or you may even own one now. If you are interested in a registered healthy, happy Carolina Dog puppy, please contact me ASAP for current availability or information about putting in a deposit on our next planned litter!
Before you send me a deposit, please tell me a little about yourself, your family, and your experience with dogs. I have a “Prospective Puppy Family Questionnaire” I would like for anyone interested in getting on the list to fill out, so I can be assured a CD/AD is right for you. You can find it here Prospective Puppy Family Questionnaire
The puppies will be UKC registered Carolina Dogs & eligible for registration with the ARBA also, if you wish. I have both parents pedigrees for you to view if you need to.

I am a member of the Natural Rearing Breeders Association ( NRBA Home )and the Natural Rearing Breeders Directory ( NRBD Home ). My dogs are Naturally Reared, and the puppies are Second Generation NR,  meaning the parents are fed a Biologically Appropriate Prey-Model Raw Diet, minimally vaccinated & I do not use harmful chemicals on them. They are checked regularly by my Holistic Veterinarian & the pups will be examined as well before going to their new homes, and certainly guaranteed to have no illness or communicable diseases! Pups will be weaned to the raw diet and I will supply you with information about this (if you are new to raw) as well as a recommended minimal vaccine schedule.
I hope that through my conversations with each perspective family I can identify who will be a good CD family for each pup’s lifetime. I will tell you what and why I have learned that Natural Rearing gives our dogs the best chance at a Long, Happy, Healthy Life,  as well as give my advice, my support, and mentoring.
I will stay in contact with each pup family as much as they need. I will provide a folder with information & literature about what I recommend, regarding care decisions made about the pup. I really believe in personal freedom & responsibility, so I do not feel like I have the right to try & dictate what a person can do with their own dog; such as exactly when or if to S/N, what to feed or bathe pup in, or what vaccines to give.
I am doing my best to give these puppies the best start possible & I will say that if someone turns around and loads the pup up with NON-Biologically Appropriate Food, or every vaccine under the sun, or decides to early S/N, covers the puppy in chemicals, and it then has an illness or negative response, I will NOT refund their money. (although I will take the pup back if they can not provide appropriate care for it).
PICK UP/SHIPPING/NO FLYING
I will not allow the puppies to leave for their new homes any earlier than 8 weeks of age, but I will keep pups longer if that is what someone needs in order to make arrangements. I prefer everyone pick up their puppy in person, as I think it is important that we meet in person and you are able to see what your puppy’s home life has been like and to meet your puppy’s parents. Also I feel that flying an 8 week old puppy is too stressful on them, so I will not have them flown. I will accept other ground transportation options, such as carpool. I also have a contact with a wonderful caring ground transport company Shuttle Pet . Any shipping costs will be the responsibility of the buyer.
East Tennessee is a great place for a vacation & some of my puppy families have combined their vacation with the trip to pick up their puppy. We are within 30 minutes(or closer) of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Pigeon Forge, DollyWood, Gatlinburg, Townsend, Cades Cove, campgrounds & numerous lakes, Knoxville, Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, University of Tennessee Sports complexes, minor league sports teams, & much more!
RIGHT TO REFUSE
From personal experience, and other breeder’s stories, I have learned that not everyone is what they “put on” to be. I would not sell a dog to someone who I have suspicions might mistreat the dog or someone who would resale it, especially at a pet store. Those are 2 examples, and there are many unsavory people out there… If I get a bad vibe about someone, they are NOT getting one of my sweeties, I will give them their $$ back!
I don’t mean that if someone does not 100% agree with me they can not have a puppy, I am not one of those breeders that insist that you cannot have a pup if you don’t (in writing) agree to name it such & such, feed it specifically what the breeder says, agree to spay/neuter, or agree to show it, etc. or they will sue you. But I do maintain my right to refuse a puppy to anyone for the safety and health of the puppies.
WHAT I WILL DO
I will suggest what I think is best, for training and health wise, help with education about it, mentor, etc, but each person has to make up their own mind regarding what you can do & afford. (feeding raw is cheaper than quality kibble for me) If someone totally disregards my recommendations, and goes ahead & feeds crappy kibble, vaccinate every year & uses chemicals on & around their puppy, I cannot guarantee the puppy/dog will stay healthy.

In my experience, Carolina Dogs are very sensitive to vaccines, chemicals, non-biologically-appropriate food, and the like, due to being much less domesticated or less evolved, ie-closer to their wild ancestors. I recently did a poll of people with CDs, and about 60-75%+ of them have had a direct reaction to vaccinations, ranging from death to extremely violent seizures to being itchy. It did not matter whether they were from a breeder or wild caught.
Some of the CD owners I have discussed this with are resistant to doing things any other way than they have always done them. This puzzles me because this could become a BIG health issue with our breed, as it is with others, such as Collies, Labradors and Poodles. HEALTH is one of the things that makes CDs so wonderful, UN-health IS ab-normal!!!! Many CD owners refuse to change their protocol because the “reaction was too mild to worry about” (?!@#$%??) or they refuse to accept that the reaction came from vaccines, they think that’s just the way dogs are…I guess they think dogs are SUPPOSED to be sickly, that God created them having diabetes, tumors, kidney disease, etc … I for one, want MY CDs to be as healthy as they can be, always.
ABOUT THE PUPPY CONTRACT
CDs have unique behaviors and training requirements, they are subtly different from most breeds of dog, a fact which sadly leads them to end up with frustrated owners, who give up on them and surrender them to a shelter. For this reason and protection of my puppies, I will have a “puppy contract” that myself and each puppy’s owner will need to sign. Sample Puppy Contract
The General Ideas are: I guarantee the puppy will be healthy and free from communicable diseases. I pledge to take the puppy back if an owner finds they have to surrender the dog for any reason, at any time in its life. I have 1st option to buy the puppy/dog if you decide to sell it, otherwise, you will only sell the puppy to a person who is familiar with Carolina Dogs and their unique behaviors and requirements. I DO NOT want any of these puppies going to a shelter! You agree to S/N or responsibly breed your CD -only if it completely meets UKC Breed Standards and will be bred to another UKC registered Carolina Dog which also meets Breed Standards, etc. You acknowledge my recommendations per feeding, vaccination, chemicals and other care, and will do your best to follow these recommendations, as your risk level and family situation dictate. I pledge to be available to answer any questions and mentor each family as needed for the life of the dog.
