Welcome to my site about my Naturally Reared Carolina Dogs! Carolina Dogs are a relatively new, rare breed recognized by the UKC, AKC-FSS & ARBA, and are quite possibly America's own indigenous wild dog. CDs make wonderful companions, athletes, hunters, and bedwarmers! Natural Rearing is the philosophy wherein we raise our dogs and puppies by following the 8 Laws of Health, employing Biologically Appropriate Raw Food and no toxic chemicals on, in or around our dogs. We have found this way of life fosters balance, health and longevity in our beloved companions. For our puppies, we welcome homes that have a very similar philosophy about dog rearing, or wish to learn. Check us out, follow us and share us in other places!!! Jesse

Jesse, available Carolina Dog from East Tennessee Dingos

Jesse is a Healthy, Happy Male (intact) Carolina Dog puppy. He is Cream with Red Spots and has a medium length, soft coat. Jesse is eligible for registration with the United Kennel Club and the American Rare Breed Association. He is 25 weeks old, his DOB is 8-26-2011. He was born 6th out of 7 puppies, all which were healthy. Jesse was 1 of only 2 naturally occurring, medium length/soft coat pups in the litter. He was 1 of 5 that were cream color, and 1of 3 with Red Spots.

Jesse has been checked by a Holistic Vet at 7.5 weeks old and will be ready to go for a check-up and Rabies Vaccine (as required by law) next month. Jesse, as all our puppies are,  has been Naturally Reared since birth; his sire (Cooter) has been Naturally Reared since the age of 6 months, his dam (Daisy) since the age of 8 weeks old.
He has been wormed with Diatomaceous Earth. He eats a biologically-appropriate diet of a variety of raw meat, bones, organs and a small amount of select fruits and vegetables. We do not use chemical wormer,  flea/tick treatments, Heartworm "preventative", shampoo, lawn chemicals, or cleaning products. We prefer to use safer, more natural products when necessary. We do not subject our dogs and puppies to un-necessary, possibly harmful vaccinations because we feel that naturally building a Healthy immune system, for the life-time of each of our dogs, is paramount to their overall Happiness, Health and Longevity.

Jesse has been raised in our home along with our other dogs so he is housebroken. He knows most basic obedience commands, manners and is great at recall. He likes to play with his brother, run in the forest, chase sticks, and he loves to play in water- puddles, wading pool, and the creek.

He is allowed to run loose with his brother, but being a 'pack oriented canid', he does not stray away from the house and his pack. All I have to do is step out the door and whistle and he comes running! (this is not advisable for someone who lives on a busy street, we live at the very end of a dead end road, so there is no traffic here at all, the end of the road is 100-200 yards from our house. )

Jesse is typical of most Carolina Dogs, in that he is very suspicious of strangers, even frequent guests get barked at until he(and the rest of the pack) accepts them after a few minutes, but he is a total LOVE_BUG with people he is close to. He loves to lay right against my hip on the couch, to be held and especially like to be brushed.

Jesse would be great in a home with or without other dogs, and would do fine in a home with children. He does require more grooming (brushing only) than a short-coated Carolina Dog, but it is well worth the time when he is so gorgeous!   Jesse is best suited to living inside with his "pack' and would be very trainable for agility or other competition.
